Literacy Portfolio component parts.
  • A struggling reader will be chosen and assessed in his or her native language.
  • Assessments may include:
    • Book Selection Observation.
    • Meta-linguistic Inventories.
    • Directed Reading.
    • Oral Retelling.
    • Informal Reading Inventory
    • Modified Miscue Analysis
    • Developmental Writing Checklist.
    • One additional assessment (Computerized).
  • A Student Assessment Summary will be composed identifying strengths, needs, targets & recommendations.
  • Three session plans will be uploaded to this page as well  including sections such as "My Plans",  "What Really Happened", "What that Means for the Student's Literacy", and "What Instruction Student Needs Next".
  • A final summary will be submitted including reflections pertaining to the assessment.
  • One letter each will be given to the Student, Teacher, and Parent.

This literacy assessment web's aim is to gain a better understanding of how technology can aid in literacy assessment and development. Created by Justin Olmanson, the goal is the optimization of technology utilization in educational settings in hopes of producing more successful learners.
