- Responses to Reflections on Framing Literacy 7,
Read the chapters today. I always think at first in reading material about reading
that too much is being made of the effort needed to learn to read well. But
getting to the point of reading for reading sake requires an evolution on the
part of the reader that may not be fully appreciated by some (me?).
As a teacher technologist, I see students once a week for one period so my awareness
of a student's interest and ability levels with regard to reading is difficult
to determine. However, I have worked with a student in the past and have observed
how difficult is for a student to read well.
The chapters will provide a structure for working with a student that will help
me help her. My work with this student will commence in the next week or so.

Ron- I can understand about not being able to have the time you would like
to get an idea of their literacy interests. I have just set up a forms page
on my educational website. If you were to point your kids there making sure
the first field was filled with YOUR e-mail address the form could be rerouted
to you and you could put the data into a databank of sorts giving you access
to the information. I also have Metalinguistic forms...
