  • Responses to Reflections on Framing Literacy 5,

First let me say I'm not sure how to keep track of everything here so this is my reflection for the 3rd weeks reading. I have just finished reading chapters 5 and 6. what did i get out of them?
Probably the first thing is the importance of keeping and using up to date assessments and to use them in guiding you in providing the children with what they need. I liked the guide that help you identify behaviors that you can expect to see in the different types of readers. I can really use them to keep track of things I would like to see happening. the book is helping me to organize my thoughts about how to assess what I am seeing in my classroom and what to do after that. I do it already a lot and it really boosts your confidence (self- efficacy) to know you are doing the things that need to be done. -Tracy

Tracy- I too feel like assessment should guide my instruction. My dilemma is that assessment gets pushed to the back of my priorities list week after week. I need to somehow put it at the forefront of my teaching tasks. What has worked for you?

    Justin.
