Mr. Olmanson's class invaded by Minnesota youth!

Here are some pictures taken May 1 with the Immanuel Lutheran Senior Class (Mankato MN). 

We interviewed them, ate lunch together, tested their chess savvy, and played a friendly game of kickball.

The girls picked flowers and they talked about what it is like on the barren plains of the northland...

The atmosphere was one of mutual respect and curiosity, allowing my 3rd grade bilingual students to take risks and try out their English. It also served as an opportunity to test the senior -Spanish II high school students' Spanish language proficiency.

The underlying cultural experience and mentoring  which transpired made this a memorable day for all involved.
