Chapter 1
Leroy squinted as he lifted his racket and smacked the tennis ball over the net. He watched as it hurtled towards his sister's nose. Her glasses let out a plastic like crunch as they went sliding across the court, stopping soon after hitting the grass.
"That's it fish-face! I'm never playing tennis with you again." She spun around and threw her racket at him missing his head by about four inches.
"Nice shot four-eyes" Leroy taunted as he ran into the house. Marcy had terrible aim but there was no point in letting her get another chance at cracking his skull open.
Leroy pushed the cement block he kept in his room in front of his bedroom door. It always came in handy whenever his sister went completely berserk, which was about twice a week.
"Alright dog-breath" Marcy yelled from behind the door, "come on out so we can settle this."
"If you think that I'm going to open this door, you're dumber than I thought," Leroy laughed as he lay back on his bed and stared out the window.
"We'll see who's dumb soon enough."
Leroy sat up in his bed; there was something a little eerie about her tone of voice. Marcy had a tendency to pound on the door until she was out of breath, but now just 5 minutes after getting smacked between the eyes by a speeding tennis ball she was calm and even a little confident.
"Ok Eddie, whenever you're ready" Marcy said coolly.
Leroy jumped out of bed and started bobbing up and down trying to think of a way to get out of his room within the next fifteen seconds.
Eddie Houwser lived three doors down and drugged cats using sleeping pills and Fancy Feast cat food. He was not allowed in the house, especially when Leroy and Marcy's dad wasn't home.
"Eddie hates me even more than alley-cats!" Leroy thought to himself as he strained to open his bedroom window. Normally he wouldn't have been able to open it on account of it was usually either stuck or broken but the image of Eddie Houwser forcing him to eat doctored cat food until he fell asleep never to wake up again gave him super-human strength.
Leroy had always thought about using his bedroom window to sneak out of the house to visit his best friend Adam after everyone had fallen asleep. The fact that the house was a good three feet away from the closest tree branch is what had always stopped him from implementing his plan whenever he remembered it.
This time he had no choice.
"Hope you're hungry!" he heard Marcy say as Eddie smashed through the bedroom door, sending the block sliding across the floor.
"One, two, three!" Leroy muttered under his breath as he pushed off of the window ledge with all of his might and reached his hands forward, taking aim for the tree branch.

Chapter 2
"Well hello there Mr. Daredevil!" a man in a ridiculous Hawaiian shirt and white hat said smiling at him.
Leroy tried to remember who this guy was and how he ended up in a room with tubes up his nose. He remembered eating Coco Pebbles in the morning, playing WWF Wrestling 2000 with Adam and then something about a tennis ball.
"Hi snot for brains" Marcy said interrupting his concentration.
"What happened?" Leroy whispered, trying to turn his head to the side to get a better view of his sister.
"Seems you were impersonating Tarzan the Ape Man from your second floor bedroom window." The man in the colorful shirt said, looking down at his clipboard.
"Where's dad" Leroy asked moving his eyes around the room as best he could. His neck seemed immobilized somehow, making it impossible to move.
"Your father is downstairs signing you away, I mean signing you in," the man said correcting himself. "My name is Doctor Don, I'll be in charge of keeping you comfortable until your release sometime next month."
Leroy could not believe his bandaged ears. He would be away from his house and his friends for a whole month. He would miss practically the entire little-league baseball season, not to mention the fourth of July fireworks and parade.
Marcy laughed; she couldn't help but enjoy the predicament her brother was in now that she knew he was going to be all right.
"Don't worry dog-breath, I won't let anyone go snooping through your room," Marcy said as she smiled evilly, rubbing her hands together. She turned and left the room calling out behind her "I'll tell dad you're already sleeping and not to bother coming up. See you in two weeks Tarzan."
"What did she mean by two weeks?" Leroy asked the Doctor. He felt a headache coming on just looking at that crazy shirt the Doc wore.
"It's hospital policy, all medical care is free, however patients are only allowed visitors every two weeks." The Doctor smiled as he fished a bottle out of his pocket and shook two giant red pills out onto his palm, "time for your medicine," he said smiling.
